Plaster, paint and polish.

12 Feb

Every January we tackle a list of maintenance jobs ranging from structural repairs to decoration and of course, safety checks. This involves lists, lots of lists and helpful and willing tradesmen.

We are just about finished for this year and are very pleased the way the top bedroom in Apartment One is looking. A new ceiling with downlighters, complete repaint, new carpet, blinds and bedding gives a fresh contemporary feel. Of course, the views over the harbour will always top anything you can do internally but we hope this will please our visitors.

Inevitably odd things do go awry during the course of the year – a light bulb here, a slow draining sink there but we try to keep on top of everything and have a very obliging list of people to call on if needed. Probably the worst thing last year was the boiler in Apt 1 malfunctioning in a pretty terminal way while I was out of the country. Luckily our visitors were very understanding and a new one was fitted within the week.

So, here’s to another season and we start with enthusiasm and can’t wait to welcome returning and new visitors alike. We still have some early season short breaks and weeks available so check the site and because we would love to see you!
